FaZe took home the series after Helvijs "broky" Saukants and Håvard "rain" Nygaard put up dominant performances on the Nuke decider.
FaZe are through to the BLAST Premier Spring Final after coming out on top of a three-map series against BIG, becoming the third team to cement their spot at the event after Vitality and OG joined the team list following their own wins in the gauntlet bracket.
Finn "karrigan" Andersen's side had advanced directly to the third round of the gauntlet bracket after topping Group C, and despite some struggles in the series against BIG, managed to take things over the line in their first tournament showing with Robin "ropz" Kool.
BIG still have one more opportunity to avoid playing in the Showdown by securing a spot in the Spring Final through the Last Chance stage, where they are set to take on Astralis at 18:30 on Sunday.
It was an early lead from FaZe on BIG's map pick of Dust2 that kicked off the series, the European mixture putting up a convincing defense as they pushed up to a 7-2 scoreline. Multi-kill rounds from Josef "faveN" Baumann and Florian "syrsoN" Rische proved key in keeping the German side in the running as they stabilized toward the latter moments of the half, closing the gap to only trail by three rounds heading into the side swap.
A triple kill from ropz ensured FaZe their second pistol round victory of the series, and they ran with the momentum of the win to go up 12-6 before BIG were able to respond. A double AWP setup between syrsoN and Nils "k1to" Gruhne proved key in making a comeback effort a reality, with BIG shutting down attempts to attack both long and B from FaZe as they won six rounds in a row to tie up the scoreline. However, a catwalk drop into CT to pull off a successful B hit got FaZe back to winning ways, and subsequent victories helped them to just barely edge out a map win, 16-14.
It was a stalwart defense from BIG that allowed them to respond on Overpass, with the close margins of the first map entirely falling away as syrsoN took control of the proceedings with his AWP. FaZe won just two rounds in the first half, one courtesy of a 1vs3 clutch from ropz, but were unable to get anything else going in an entirely flat showing as BIG quickly took home the map 16-2.
Any hopes for a close series decider fell away on Nuke as FaZe gave BIG the exact same treatment they had just received, battering the German side in an entirely one-sided map. broky was an unstoppable force for FaZe as they only gave up one round en route to closing out the series, with the 20-year-old Latvian ending the map with a 21-1 K-D and 2.21 rating.
